DVB-TV

What is DVB TV?

DVB is an acronym for Digital Video Broadcasting and aside from opportunities to download from the internet, then that is the way that we will get our TV shows delivered in the future.

DVB is not new, as it is already available in 4 flavours via Cable (DVB-C), Satellite (DVB-S) and Terrestrial (DVB-T). The fourth flavour encompasses TV delivered to mobile devices (e.g. phones) and is DVB-H.

This site will focus on the first 3 DVB options that will be the only viable replacements to get TV onto our screens after analogue switch-off.

We aim to bring you information about the Analogue switch off and to help you prepare for the digital era.

Unfortunately, many TVs will be incapable of receiving even basic Freeview channels on their existing set without either replacing their set or adding a DVB-T adapter wherever possible.

We aim to help you with your choices across Satellite, Cable or Freeview and to help you find the best possible price on any necessary equipment.

The site is new - so stop by in the future as we add content over time. There is a TV revolution starting...don't get left behind with a black screen...stay ahead of the analogue switchoff!!

The quickest way to Digital TV?

No question... it has to be via Sky Television.

Sky Television offers a great triple-play solution of Digital TV, Broadband Internet as well as unlimited telephone calls starting from an incredible £26 per month.

Incredibible!!... Why do we say that?

Well, when you consider that most broadnand solutions start at around £15 on their own, then £26 for a triple-play solution doeas appear to be unbeatable.

Please email info@dvb-tv.co.uk if you know differently.

Yes, Sky does carry a charge. But... if you stick with it for one year only, then you will have a fully installed system that will recieve all free-to-air channels that far outnumber the channells available via Freeview.

On current estimates, Sky is available on a full year contract at equivalent prices to upgrading an analogue aerial. Sky Television seems like a compelling choice in these circumstances.
